योजनानां सहस्रं तु शनैर्गच्छेत् पिपीलिका ।
आगच्छन् वैनतेयोपि पदमेकं न गच्छति ।।
Transliteration: yojanānāṃ sahasraṃ tu śanairgacchet pipīlikā ।
āgacchan vainateyopi padamekaṃ na gacchati ।।
Rough Translation: Thousands of yojanas (1 yojana = 7.64 miles) move, can an ant moving slowly make. If he doesn’t move, even an eagle, not one step does he go.
Summary: This shloka focuses on the importance of persistence, irrespective of the strengths. If a small ant walks slowly, it can travel thousands of miles. However, if an eagle doesn’t even move, he will not achieve even a single step.
